Identified: the biomechanical theory behind FitFlop Footwear amazing ability to reduce lower back pain!

CONTROL SHOE: BACK STRESS

Preliminary findings suggest that ground reaction force travels safely behind the knee joint and directly through the pelvis. This is thought to be the primary reason for consumers reporting reduced lower back pain. A full study is currently under way.

FITFLOP: REALIGNS FORCE THROUGH BODY

Testimonials from happy, pain-free FitFlop wearers have been pouring in for over a year now, detailing everything from relief from lower back aches and unidentified plantar foot pain to reduction in pain from osteoarthritis and injured limbs. As FitFlop sandals were originally designed just to load up and challenge leg muscles, we chalked this up to an auspicious side effect from our biomechanically aligned shoes. But a new study from Salford University shows us exactly why FitFlop footwear make people feel so good:

“These are a great investment. I purchased three pairs for my sisters and I. My back and foot pain have diminished by 50% even so I no longer take pain meds. I truly recommend them.”
Melissa, Washington , United States

I love my FitFlops, they have helped trememdously since my car accident and seem to stop my pelvis from rotating. Love the fact you’ve brought out Goghs, would love to try a pair in black, I would be able to wear them all day and work and my osteopath has suggested that I get a pair.”
Claire, Essex , United Kingdom

THE STUDY ABOVE SHOWS WHY PUTTING ON A PAIR OF FITFLOPS CAN PROVIDE INSTANT RELIEF! WE RECOMMEND FITFLOP FOOTWEAR TO ANY MAN OR WOMAN WHO COMPLAINS OF LOWER BACK PAIN.

I have taken on a new lease of life since finding Fitflops. I had unexplained low back pain, leg and hip pain and couldn’t walk very far at all without discomfort and pain. Saw these advertised in a Sunday magazine and read the reviews and thought I’d try a pair of Billows. Within 2 hours I noticed a difference. 3 days later I walked 2 miles without pain, I’m so grateful. I wear them most of the time now. One pair of Billows, a pair of Goghs and 3 pairs of Fitflops. I cannot thank you enough for making me mostly pain free, I recommend them to all my friends and colleagues. I love you all!!

I bought my first pair in February 09 and have just bought another pair; I have found them to be the most comfiest pair of sandals I have ever owned.
As a Podiatrist I have recommended them to a number of patients, who need a stylish sandal that is providing cushioning and support to the feet, with the added bonus of gaining better muscle tone. I would like to be able to retail these in my clinic.

I have suffered from lower back pain for the last 7 years! Every day I have had to take medication, I bought my Fitflops on Sat. (today is Tuesday) and for the first time in 7 years, I woke up without pain and I havent needed to take tablets all day! I have been recommending Fitflops to all my friends and family, so far 6 people have taken my advice and invested in a pair…I’m deffinately overjoyed with the results!!!

I have been fighting lower back pain since Nov 2005 and have been admitted to hospital with severe pain. Through my chiropractitioner I have managed to stop taking daily medication and now only take omega 3 supplement. (which helps keep joints supple). Bought my first pair of fitflops in August 2008 after foot surgery and couldn`t believe how comfortable they were - they are better than bare feet.! Just bought the walkstar royal blue and love them as well. I am convinced that my fitflops maintain my pain free back and also keep my feet in good condition. I can even run for a bus in them!

I was in pain for a very long time from wearing flat shoes and flip flops until I discovered Fit Flop. I didn’t realize that it was good for planter fasciaitis and heel pain until I saw an add on a NY city train and thats when it hit me that their claim was very true. I really wish they came out with sneakers or shoes because I walk alot and stand alot and I am hoping they make it . This is truely the best for people with heel spurs and planter fasciaitis. Thank you!!

I thought "no way - can’t really work," but instead, I am stunned and amazed. I have sacroiliac joint dysfunction, coccydynia, and degenerative conditions in my back. I bought a pair of fit flops because I’ll try anything to reduce my constant back pain. I’m blown away. Not only has my back pain improved, but my legs, butt, hips and even tummy are already slimming down after walking 2-3 miles a day for one week in my fitflops!

if you are suggesting that the vector in the second of the two frames is as a result of the design of the footwear. I would strongly argue against that suggestion. First, the two images are at differeng points of early stance phase,
if the upper image was allowed to progress untill the tibia is perpendicular then I WOULD SUGGEST THE RESULTS WOULD BE THE SAME. Second any heel lift will move the ground reaction force vector.

I would love to own a pair of Flitflops but I take size 10.
When will shoe manufacturers realise that there are many women with larger than average feet ? I personally have had size 10 feet for the last 50 years !!!

My first pair(2 years ago), were a Godsend. I can’t take them off my feet. They are the only foot apparel I can wear all day long at work and not have leg pain. I’m buying new styles for the winter!

I have 3 pair of fitflops and honestly do not want to put any other shoes on my feet. I thought my Crocs were the best and now the Cros never get out of my closet. I had foot surgery almost 2 years ago and am still not able to wear all of my regular shoes. Thank you for such an excellent pair of shoes. To say I love then would be an understatement.

I read about FitFlop footwear in a magazine survey so thought i would try them as i have plantar fasciitis and lower back pain and arthritis, I bought two pairs of Freeway as i can’t get away with the bar between toes, and they are great really comfortable never have them off my feet unless i have to. Just wish they were a bit cheaper to buy and will be looking into getting a pair of boots for the winter.

I live in Chattanooga, TN USA. I like to try on my Fitlops before purchasing them. Where can I find them locally? I bought my first pair at Bath & Body. Now they only sell them online. I went to Macy’s Marietta, GA 9/3/09 for my second pair. Please help me find a store in the immediate Chattanooga area. Thanks for your help

I am desperately trying to find a pair of Billow size 6. ANY colour except pink (taupe would be perfect). I have searched all the websites and cannot find them. Surely you have not discontinued such a popular item. My daughter has both Billow and sandels, she adores them. I know you do other styles of boots but it is the Billow that fits the bill for me. Please help !!

Hi Joyce, I’m afraid the Billow was from our Autumn/Winter 08 collection and we are not producing anymore of this design. Sorry!

As a multiple spine surgery veteran, I was skeptical about your shoes. However, I love them! Using them has made my activities easier and longer. They got me through hours at the Orlando theme parks without pain or repercussion. The FitFlop Freeway was better on my back than any sneaker I have tried. They are amazing and I have been recommending them to all my friends. And I cannot wait to get the Gogh and Mukluk! Thank you!
