Marcia on The Gayle King Show!
1 NOVEMBER 2011
Fans in the US: did you catch FitFlop founder Marcia Kilore making a special appearance today on The Gayle King Show on the Oprah Winfrey Network?
If you did, you'll have seen MK's tip for aspiring entrepreneurs. If you didn't, get the full scoop here.
(Wondering what's going on in the pic on the left? That's MK hanging out with Elmo backstage. Tough life being a celebrity, right?)
DRIP FEED OR DELUGE? That is the question.
22 SEPTEMBER 2011
Daniel, our intensely enthusiastic programmer (nickname CS EAGLE EYE) who often emails out at much past midnight pointing out that a customer Facebook query has gone unanswered, does not run on coffee, adrenaline, or real food; he runs on GOLDFISH CRACKERS and ping pong. We've got a big project coming up, so Helen ordered a crate of said CRACKERS (which we're hiding in the back).
Do we give them to him: One packet at a time, or do the full goldfish monty?
Thoughts?
Marcia reveals her one-day diary to Stylist magazine
'FITFLOP WAS ONE OF THOSE LIGHTBULB IDEAS'.
Did anyone check out yesterday's Stylist magazine? Our very own Marcia shares with the team the truth behind her working life and the story behind her success.

OUR DESIGN TEAM HITS THE BIG APPLE
15 JUNE, 2011
Our design team has the daily task of inspiring the ‘civilians’ in the office with a constant flow of creativity and cool. So after six months of output – which culminated in the polishing off of our Spring/Summer 2012 collection two weeks ago – the boss sent them for a refuel. Helen – our particularly ‘on point’ in house producer – wrangled up a week's worth of inspiration, iPods and old-fashioned maps, booked them all tickets to the Big Apple, and away they went.
What did they love? THE HIGH LINE, a mile-long elevated railway track that's been converted into parkland to provide a bit of peace amidst the beast; ALEXANDER MCQUEEN AT THE MET, the lines were long, the wait was worth it, and everybody agreed that what was amazing was how good he was from the get-go; ELLIOTT ERWITT'S EXHIBITION at the ICP on 43rd and 6th, full of iconic historical photos, many of which display his hilarious sense of humour; cupcake-laden schoolgirls having a party at a ‘competitor footwear brand's Soho shop’, who discovered that it was Anthony's birthday too, and started doing the old ‘are you one, are you two, are you three…’ until they got to his, um, age.
There was the Bushwick expedition to showcase the up-and-coming, the art expo and the edgy; ANTHONY'S BIRTHDAY FACIAL with Anna at BLISS (who gave him a peel and, without him knowing, slapped wax on his eyebrows! Ouch!); PUBLIC in NOLITA, location of the ‘design goal setting’ dinner (except that the trout really was salmon, and the red wine gave Andrea a case of hives); and, of course, spending a few days getting inspired by the sheer height of the place. Now you'll have to wait until Winter 2012 to see what became of it all. Early reports back from the sketchbooks look pretty exciting.
