The Black Friday Urge

(and Why You Should Lean Into It, For Feets’ Sake)

*By Marcia Kilgore, Founder of FitFlop*   There’s a moment every November when we all become slightly unhinged. Not dangerous-unhinged, more Thelma-and-Louise-hair-whipping-in-the-wind credit cards primed kind of unhinged …   It’s the kind of behaviour when you know you’re doing something out of character. Still, you’re doing it with commitment, with glamour, and with the kind of conviction normally reserved for life-changing decisions or very good hair days. And it’s triggered by five words: Black Friday Sale at FitFlop.   Because Black Friday at FitFlop taps into a particular corner of the female psyche: extreme shoe shopping. It’s anticipation, adrenaline, possibility. It’s the retail equivalent of stepping on the gas in a convertible and shouting over the wind, Let’s go.   And sure, we probably shop a little more than we need to. But also… maybe we don’t. Perhaps we finally stop delaying the inevitable: replacing the beloved ballerinas that we’ve worn into the ground; grabbing the pair of boots we’ve been eyeing since September, because we’re still wondering if it will get cold enough this year for new boots. Buying next summer’s sandals (they’re classic, timeless, responsible, even) now, for a steal- because future-you deserves a victory.
Here’s the thing: stockpiling a few screaming deals in the Black Friday Sale at FitFlop isn’t some fling. It isn’t like you’re suddenly grabbing a tie-dye low-cut yoga bra from Skims because you’ll maybe break out of your high-support, full-coverage rut. Nor is it that sheer black long sleeve t-shirt that you know you’ll eventually find the right bra to wear underneath (maybe with that tie-dye yoga bra you’ll wear someday?). It’s not a pair of trousers you love, that yes, are two sizes too small, that you’re buying for inspiration, because in January, you’re going low carb, no alcohol, 4X/week at the gym, and they will fit you, gosh-dammit.    No, ours are shoes that get worn. They earn their keep. They become your everyday accomplices, your commute-proof allies, your “I didn’t know a shoe could do this much for me” revelations.    Which brings us to the good part - the part where your inner rational adult and your inner Thelma & Louise hold hands and drive off the cliff together (but metaphorically, and with excellent arch support).    ## 2025 FitFlop Black Friday Sale Deals    ## To Make It Easy, We’re Going Up to 40% off EVERYTHING.    It’s almost rude not to shop.    Some things will be less discounted because we barely have any left… which honestly is its own kind of flex. (You can feel smug paying for getting 25% off something iconic - you’re basically buying “I got the last pair of these leather Platfform Mules” bragging rights.)    Some things will temporarily go into ‘screaming good deal’ territory because we “borrowed” them from our wholesale inventory, or they arrived late into our warehouses (sometimes, boats are slow), or we ordered an extra few hundred pairs to land just about now, so we could, you know, thrill people. (In addition to making amazing shoes, we also really love to thrill people.)    Either way, here’s what to grab before someone else does:
1. [**Delicato Ballerinas**](https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/womens-ballerinas-uk) **(the sensible-meets-insanely-comfortable kind)** If you do nothing else this week, stock up on ballerinas. These are bestsellers for a reason: they’re pretty on the outside and practically sneakers on the inside. A responsible choice disguised as a chic one. All-year-round wearability. With pretty socks (for parties), or not (when it gets warmer) 2. [**Next Summer’s Sandals**](https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/womens-sandals-uk) **(yes, now)** Fashion people always shop in the off-season. It’s the smartest way to buy shoes - and the best pairs never make it to June. 3. [**The Platforms Everyone’s Obsessing Over**](https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/womens-platform-shoes-uk) If your size is still available, don’t hesitate. These disappear faster than a plate of warm cookies. 4.  [**Wylder Knee-High Boots**](https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/womens-boots-uk?&@family=wylder) There are a few sizes left. Think of these as the unicorns of the sale. If you find one in your size, it’s destiny. 5.  [**F-Mode Stitch Warm-Lined Ankle Boots**](https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/womens-boots-uk?&@family=f-mode) A late shipment of these just arrived. They’ll be your power boots. And they’re perfect. Cloud-soft inside, sleek on the outside, and the kind of winter staple that makes you wish for colder weather. You will wear these everywhere. Also, these are slightly edgier if you’re the rock star weatherproof Chelsea Boot type.   ## Permission Granted to Go Big:    Black Friday isn’t about chaos - at least not the kind where you wake up surrounded by cardboard boxes, wondering what possessed you. It’s about the satisfaction of buying well: the right pieces, the smart pieces, the shoes that won’t let you down and won’t get shoved behind a forgotten Halloween costume.      So go ahead. Indulge. Enjoy the ride. Make a little noise. Hit checkout with confidence.      At the very least, you’ll have great shoes.
